Mens cosmetics industry is persisting to expand as time passes each day. It used to be a tough market to penetrate but nowadays there is a stable increase in every area.
The highest growth is from the hair care product area. Most of the novel products are built around conditioners & shampoos, especially for hair thickening and growth. The latest brands are turning up on the shelves competing with well-known brands. Nonetheless a good number of these merchandise are aimed in the direction of a "properly groomed" man. This market for mens grooming is estimated to be close to the six billion dollar mark. This takes account of Internet marketing, department stores, and the mass market. Two foremost demographic classes are hogging the figures, that is men born from 1946 to 1954 (the baby boomers) and men born from 1965 to 1980 (the generation X-ers). There was this young lady I know who was going through the bag of a male friend while we were on vacation. She started suspecting the male friend of being gay when she saw many kinds of skin care products, such as astringents & facial creams, among his things. Of course, this girl belonged to the new generation, but still, there are still some people who are not open to mens grooming. This, perhaps, is partly the reason why they use the term mens grooming instead of "mens cosmetics" in order to make a distinction between masculine & feminine products.
It doesnt indicate that a man is gay if he wants to take care of his skin. (Although I wouldnt refrain from making a joke out of it.) Mens skin are not made of stainless steel, thus, they also need to take care of their skin like women do. Everyday the elements and stress can wear on your skin. Apart from that men have an estimated 25 percent oilier skin compared to women. And the skin pores of mens skin are normally bigger as well. Therefore, it is imperative that men should also keep their face clean.
There are several companies that are producing cosmetics for men these days. Don't be shy, try them yourselves. If you dont have the balls to do it yourself, ask a lady friend to get it for you.
