DJs are a service provider of playing music in multiple venues and for so many different types of music listeners and environments. Some of the venues include playing live at a music concert and playing at night clubs to a sold out audience ready to dance the night away so the latest and greatest sounds of the music that the DJ will play at a Toronto night club or Toronto live concert. As well, DJs cater their trade to perform in front of large audiences for a corporate event and social gala, the purpose of the event to celebrate a Christmas party or annual gala. Then there is the playing at a traditional wedding, baptism, bar mitzvah and a milestone birthday party and lastly there are school dances, school parties and school proms.
The latter is what we will focus on when choosing on a DJ; how inapt is the DJ capable of performing at your school dance, school party or Toronto public school prom. The prom is an interesting situation because of the target you will be playing the music to. Toronto has 2 different types of school boards, a public school board that is open to its full appeal of multicultural reach. Then there is the catholic school board, which in theory, practices offering an environment to the catholic children within not only Toronto, however, within southern Ontario, and the GTA as a whole, not to mention the entire landscape of Canada.

However, playing at a school prom or a school dance is important to make sure that you are offering the latest genres of music and the best possible fit to the youths who are attending the party. With so many different types of students willing to attend their school prom, be it a high school prom or a junior level party, kids know about the latest music going, so as a DJ, it is important to play the latest and greatest top 40 hits so the kids really get into the music and enjoy themselves throughout the night. That is why a school must understand to hire a DJ for its party that is music savvy enough so they know what the latest songs are, make sure that they have the songs in their list of songs available to them and are ready to pump them out for the party going students ready to celebrate their prom.
So in conclusion, DJs offer there music expertise to a wide range of events and environments, so playing for a school dance, prom or party is no different, however, the one difference that comes with playing at a school function is that the students can be a lot more fickle when it comes to the music choices the DJ is willing to play, that is why it is important to be able to bring in a DJ that has all the latest and best top 40 hits in there arsenal and are ready to play the music for the students to dance the night away, and for some one last night while in high school.
