Spinal Decompression Therapy

Spinal Decompression Therapy is an all natural treatment for a few types of chronic lower back pain. It is a non-surgical and non-chiropractic therapy designed to relieve back pain and problems associated with spinal disc injuries. The spinal cord can become compressed if there was trauma that may have damaged the cord, like a car accident, or through disease. This means that compression of the spine may happen abruptly or over time. Bone damage can also cause spinal compression. This could include bone spurs which can be caused by arthritis or other bone and joint disorders. Seniors with osteoporosis may experience spinal compression as a result of vertebral cone fractures.

Spinal Decompression Therapy is a non-invasive therapy that provides gentle decompression of the disc through the use of a decompression table. The person suffering from spinal compression is strapped to the table and as it moves it applies a distraction force to the compressed disc. This gently pulls and elongates the spine and creates a small vacuum between the vertebrae which pulls the disc back into shape. A computer is in control of the distraction force which is applied in periods. The decompression table works in small increments (15 one minute alternating decompressions with a total treatment time of 30 minutes) allowing the disc time to reshape and heal to get a healthy flow of nutrients.

Then there is inversion therapy. Inversion therapy effectively relieves back pain when it is used as a part of a well-rounded treatment plan. Inversion therapy treats back pain by eliminating gravity to reduce compression of the vertebrae and discs while allowing ligaments and muscles in the spine to relax. The person experiencing the back pain lay back on the table in an inverted position. The inversion table is used as the mechanism to eliminate gravitational compression.

Inversion Therapy is safe, quick and effective as it eliminates risk such as injections, anesthesia or surgery often associated with invasive procedures. This therapy is the best way to increase space between the vertebrae where a vacuum type of effect is produced while nutrition is diffused into the disc allowing for the annulus fibrosis to heal. This can bring relief from back pain.

Not only does inversion therapy work effectively to reduce back pain, it improves circulation by allowing gravity to help the lymphatic system clear faster to ease pain in stiff muscles. It also increases flexibility and range of motion through healthy joints and maintains your height by preventing shrinkage. Inversion therapy is also a great stress reliever. Full body stretches can create a sense of rejuvenation for the body. People have also been known to sleep better with regular inversion therapy and experience an improvement in posture.

Inversion therapy could also be very useful for those suffering bulging or herniated disc, sciatica, headaches, migraines or fluid buildup in other limbs. The timeliness of results vary depending on the cause of your spinal decompression which is why the Healthy Back Institute offers a 90 day guarantee on the HBI Premium Inversion Table at no risk.
