Hollywood is the only place in the entire world that can understand graphic design better. What is very odd is that they are good in whatever they do. There are even movie logos that are so popular that they are instantly recognized and are associated with the actors and actresses of the said movies and advertisements. What more, they are able to incorporate a lot into their design such as story lines, plot, themes, hidden messages and among others.
Having a simple logo designed just for the sake of having it isn't enough. Logo design can either make or break your business. So what does one have to do to create a powerful design that creates instant recognition and association?

A powerful logo is thought-provoking. Didnt you ever wonder what message is conveyed behind the plain and simple blue, orange and white logo of FedEx? A logo should be able to convey a storyline. On the other hand, the Toblerone logo shows more than just the Swiss Alps. If you take a closer look, you can see the image of a bear. Bern, Switzerland, where Toblerone originated, is known as The City of Bears. The Superman logo, however, has more to tell than just seeing it through an ordinary eye. The “S” in the logo represents Superman while the Shield symbolizes protection. It also shows the viewer that once you are inside Supermans Shield, you are invincible.
The logo that will carry your company or brand name should make use of powerful fonts. The proper selection of typography can convert your normal design into a very attractive piece of art. Your logo must make a connection and understanding towards the audience. For construction companies, you wouldn't want a thin, elegant and feminine looking font, would you? If you are into ladies designer wear, would you want a thick and short font? The Coca-cola logo, a Spencerian typeface developed in the mid 19th century, which was a dominant form of writing in the United States way back in the 19th century, symbolizes youthful energy and exuberance. An exception to the rule applies to Apple because probably, they are the only company that does not make use of any form of font nor do they put their brand name on their products. Nevertheless, they have become one of the worlds most renowned brands even in the absence of a text or font.
