You’ve heard quite enough about what to expect from the iPad 2, I’m sure, but you have been more than ready to witness this device live and in action. Today is your lucky day. Here’s the skinny:
The iPad has been revamped all over. For starters, the iPad 2 is a lot thinner; 33% thinner to be exact. It’s 8.8mm as opposed to the original weight of 13.4mm standard in the iPad, First Generation. The iPad 2 will also be available in white.
The major hook about the iPad 2 must be its speed. The main CPU is a Samsung A5 dual core processor. That will be up to nine times faster than the original iPad. There’s also new graphics processor that’s two times faster than that of the iPad, First Generation.
As mentioned in a blog this iPad 2 does indeed have the front and rear cameras and PhotoBooth is built in to the device, as well.
As for the software, FaceTime is now available on the iPad 2. There is an improved version of Air Play that lets users share media such as songs and slideshows between the iPad and other devices. iOS 4.3 is slightly tweaked and iTunes sharing is built in so you can stream your whole music library to your iPad when it is on the same network as your computer. An updated version of iMovie is also available.
The iPad 2 is fully equipped with a built-in 25-watt hour rechargeable lithium polymer battery and has up to 10 hours of video watching, listening to music and surfing the web ability. The iPad 2 3G plus Wi-Fi has a digital compass, assisted GPS and cellular capabilities.
