If you are looking to enjoy the culture of Tanzania and gain some real work experience at the same time, you might want to considering volunteer or internship employment in Tanzania. There are a variety of global internship programs and non-governemental organizations (NGOs) that offer internships, volunteer, and real job employment in Tanzania.
The Tanzania employment options available vary, but most people can find something that relates to their interests to at least apply to. Actually getting employment can be competitive depending on the type of employment and if you are hoping to get paid. For example, depending on your experience and interests, you might have an easier time getting an unpaid volunteer position in which you might have to pay some minimal expenses or you might be able to land a job with pay and additional perks.

Volunteering is often the easiest way to get employment in Tanzania. Volunteering may not have monetary benefits, but if you are just beginning to enter the workforce or pursuing a new career path, you might find volunteering provides other worthwhile benefits. The main benefit of volunteering is that you can get experience that will help you land a job or perhaps even a better job back home. Volunteering can even be good for those with job experience, as it can be a rewarding experience knowing that you are helping others and the in the field experience could help you further your career back home.
Internships tend to be similar to volunteering in that they are usually unpaid employment in Tanzania. However, sometimes there are paid internships to be found, although this can depend on the demand and type of career you want an internship in. Often, though, internships will have more monetary benefits than volunteer jobs. For example, volunteer jobs in Tanzania often require you to pay to get to and from Tanzania and sometimes also room and board in Tanzania. In the case of internships, though, your expenses will usually be less, as the airfare and accommodations and sometimes even meals is included. However, if you get a paid internship you have to pay to get to Tanzania and for a place to stay, but it is kind of a similar trade off as an unpaid internship with airfare and accommodation benefits. Either way, though if you are lucky enough to get an internship it usually means a lot less money out of pocket than a volunteer job.
