Let us see if your booklet printing is up to the standards of today. Trust me, you will not want to deploy your color booklets immediately without doing some kind of quality control or standards check. With all the different kinds of rival booklets out there, you will want your own booklet printing to be at least on par with all those other prints. So let me give you all the things that you need to ask to accurately determine if your own color booklets are up to the standards of the day.

1. Is its size right for standard deployment? – First, see if you have the right size for a standard booklet. There are many sizes commonly used for booklet printing and each size corresponds to a certain deployment methods. Smaller sizes are for booklets that need to be mobile or carried on the pocket. Medium sizes are typically good for catalogs and manuals. Larger sizes of color booklets are for premiere kinds of prints such as a show programme or business portfolio.

So first test if you did indeed use the right size. Trust me this will matter a lot on how your color booklets are perceived, so make you get the right one.

2. Are the materials used considered good quality? – Next, review if your printing options are considered good quality. Sometimes, the standard quality of some booklet printing companies is not actually the best for your own prints. So make sure that you review those material options and specifically choose a good quality material to be used in your booklet printing. The thicker and glossier, the better for your color booklets.

3. Is the cover design fit for the times? – Next, see if your cover designs are up to standards today. Gone are the simple portrait type booklet cover layouts of old. In today’s world of booklet printing, a sleeker and more integrated booklet cover is preferred by most, much like the ones used by magazines. This not only helps make the color booklet more appealing, but it also gives it that fresh new look that encourages people to read it more readily.

So see if your cover designs are fit for the times. Are the images current and rendered in high quality? Are you using the best new popular fonts? Are all design elements integrated well with one another? Review all these and compare your custom booklets with other modern prints. The fresher your booklet covers are, the better.

4. Does your layout have the proper length and material to be a booklet? – You should also ask yourself if your booklet has the proper length and content to be actually a booklet. Many people think that they are printing a booklet when in actuality; they are already printing a book (which is a whole different type of printing altogether). Typically you will want your booklets to be short and the information contained within written in a more concise and straightforward manner.

So if you plan on writing very long novel like entries and descriptions in your color booklets that span 20 pages or more, you will want to rethink if booklet printing is indeed the way to go. Otherwise, if you are presenting some quick, short but detailed information, then booklets should be ideal for you.

5. Does your booklet have the right parts or sections? – Lastly, check to see if your booklet has the right parts or sections. A standard color booklet should have a cover, a title page, a table of contents, body pages and a back cover. Some people actually forget some of these things, making their color booklets look more amateurish. Make sure that all of these are present in your custom booklets and you should have a good print that is up to standards today.

Great! Now you will know if your color booklets are really up to standards today. Test out your custom booklets now.
