Plot: A junkie trumpet player (Mickey Rourke), on the lam from a mobster (Bill Murray), falls for a beautiful winged woman (Megan Fox) appearing in a circus sideshow.
Screenwriter Mitch Glazer’s first directorial effort and Rebecca Wang Entertainment production, "Passion Play", starring Mickey Rourke, Bill Murray and Megan Fox, is a romantic noir tale aimed at movie buffs with a supple spot and for tough guys with tender hearts. It is a perfect movie for everyone who believes in love and fairy tales, and for those who would like to believe in it.
A modern day fairy tale of two lovers, Mickey Rourke stars as Nate, a down-on-his-luck trumpet player who is taken down by a thug, and driven to the desert to face his execution until he sees a hawk in the sky and is saved by some white-clad Native Americans. Saved, Nate stumbles through the desert and happens to reach at a traveling freak show. Searching for a phone, he reaches into a dark, curtained room where he finds a woman who pulls a cord behind a pane of glass, turning on a ring of vanity lights as she shrugs off her shawl and shakes out a pair of wings.
Nate finds himself stunned by seeing the exotic beauty of Lily (played by Fox), the Bird Woman. Lily is cold and unconcerned; socializing with customers is not her scene. But it dawns on her that this gentle giant may well be her way out of a life of eccentric exposition. Nate is caring and sympathetic, and to him her curved beauty is a magic part of her individuality. As their bond deepens in the Passion Play film, Nate finds that his dreams of ecstasy are about to be thwarted by Happy Shannon (Murray), a businessman with deep pockets and an eye for the bizarre who wants to keep the winged beauty for himself.
The overall concept of Passion Play movie is interesting and can easily charm the audience. The Film Passion Play is a combination of reality and dreams, a tale that will take you to the world of reality through dreams. A must watch for everyone who believes in the power of love, romance and dreams!
