While initially web 2.0 referred to more dynamically changing sites, today web 2.0 type sites also means having a specific look or design. This specific look has become a big trend really and in sticker printing it has spilled out. Many people want their stickers to look like it was from those web 2.0 sites. From the shape of the buttons to the text, everyone wants their full color stickers to really look “modern” and in with the popular tech design styles.

In this tutorial, I will help you make your own color stickers look more web 2.0. Listed down below are the steps that you need to take to convert your sticker designs to this most popular trend of late.

1. Use a different sticker template that is round or uniquely shaped – Most sticker templates are rectangular. This is because most people have printed stickers that way for a long time. However, most web 2.0 sites have elements that are rounder and curvier. So if you want your color stickers to be more in line with web 2.0 designs, you might want to use sticker templates that are round or are uniquely shaped.

Do not worry, there are plenty of sticker templates that you can easily customize to be rounder and curvier. Just go online and look for sticker printing companies. They usually will have the best sticker templates that you can use as a basis for your web 2.0 sticker designs. Use those as a foundation to make your color stickers look more like those popular websites.

2. Convert colors to brighter hues – The next step in developing that web 2.0 sticker theme is to convert your colors to brighter or more intense hues. One big characteristic of those web 2.0 sites is that they use a lot more brighter colors that look more vivid and dynamic. So instead of using deep colors or neutral colors, you should try to adapt brighter and lighter hues. This will add that all important web 2.0 energy to the color theme, paving the way to a better sticker design.

3. Redesign graphics to be cuter or softer – If you look at those web 2.0 websites, you will discover that most of their graphics are actually softer and cuter. There are actually more cartoony and artistically cute elements and less of that cold, neutral, simplistic or grunge type of style. So if your old stickers had those old styles, you will need to redesign them. It is best to take bright new pictures for your stickers, or develop the cuter and softer graphics and symbols for a better web 2.0 finish in your sticker designs.

4. Get web 2.0 fonts for your text – Of course, it is also a must to use web 2.0 fonts in your text. This contributes that subtle but all important text theme. The newer and fresher the font style is, the more people will be encouraged to look at and read your full color stickers. Do not worry, there are actually hundreds of sites where you can download those web 2.0 fonts for free. Just use a search engine and you’ll have lots of options.

5. Print your stickers with materials that reflect light somewhat – Reflective elements are a crucial part of web 2.0 designs. If you look at most of the logos of web 2.0 sites, they have that shiny or gloss element virtually added into the symbol.

You can actually replicate that and even make your color stickers look more impressive by using materials that reflect the light as well. A glossy paper material or a glossy printing ink will add that additional gleam that will of course finish off that web 2.0 theme you are gunning for. So try to talk to your sticker printer and specify the use of glossy materials. Trust me, it will be all worth it.

So those are the steps that you should to do make your color stickers look more like a web 2.0 site. This will help make the look of your color stickers become trendier, appealing and impressive. Make sure you apply all this to your sticker printing today.
