Finding the perfect lightweight cashmere cardigan sweater can sometimes feel like finding a needle in a haystack. It is often difficult to find just the right cardigan and then to find one that is made of lightweight cashmere can seem impossible. We have found it much easier to solve this dilemma by searching for pieces that have cashmere in them. The best part about cashmere is the luxuriously soft feeling of the knit. We have also found that you can find some great pieces that include knits other than cashmere to give you that soft luxurious feel. Consider a few of these great cardigan sweaters as examples.

First, the Laurie B. Milan Sweater features 30% cashmere blended with nylon and viscose. The blended knit still has the softness of cashmere and the great viscose knit that is silky soft as well. This light-weight sweater knit is a great short wrap cardigan features a tie that can go in front or in back depending on how you like to wear it. It also features a lightly gathered seam at the empire waist line giving it added elements of detail. In addition, the wide ¾ length sleeve something you don’t see on every wrap these days. You’ll love the rich Truffle brown color and the ivory Parmesan color too. This sweater is certainly versatile and works as a great substitute for a blazer at work or to throw over your tank top on a cool night out.

The viscose knit is actually one of our favorite substitutes for cashmere and of course it is much more economical. In our opinion the viscose actually has a silkier feel than the cashmere. Viscose is made of a blend of natural and man-made components that can be made into a rayon fabric. Viscose rayon has a great silky appearance and soft texture and yet breathes similarly to cotton.

Consider the Audrey Wrap that is made of 78% viscose and 22% nylon. It has a smooth, silky texture that is so soft and luxurious to touch. Of course the Audrey Wrap also made by Laurie B. features a great wrap design with a faux wrap at the base of the sweater with a contrasting color shimmery tie around the waist. The cuffs and the waist are fitted giving the wrap a great hugging fit. Our favorite aspect of this wrap is the fabric. The viscose blend makes for a great fabric that you seriously won’t want to take off.

Finally, the Gable Stripe Cardigan also by Laurie B. also uses a viscose blend to give you a great feeling knit fabric. This distinctive cardigan features a dramatic contrasting zipper that is front and center in this distinctive cardigan, the Gable Stripe grey and black pattern looks so classy and elegant. Laurie B. still manages to weave in fashion forward elements with the dolman flared sleeve on this sweater, a scoop neckline and the contrasting black trim around the neckline and cuffs and hem. Again you would not believe how luxuriously soft the knit on this sweater feels. It is also made from a viscose, nylon blend with 78% viscose and 22% nylon so of course it feels super soft and very comfortable. One of our favorite looks is wearing this over a long sleeve black top with a black skirt and boots in the winter.

All of these are great examples of lightweight sweaters that incorporate cashmere or a great alternative to cashmere to give you a luxuriously soft lightweight wrap in a distinctive style
