Have you seen the modern design of business cards these days? We have the magnetic cards, plastic cards, or those that have magnetic edges, where the card is closed the layers are sealed. These are the folded business cards. These types of card basically have multiple pages, which allow you to put more details in your card to express the message you want to convey. However, folded cards are the most expensive solution in business card design today, so you need ensure you have enough budget to use this design.

Essentially, the cover can be designed like a standard card that carries the basic information. The logo can occupy the cover while the bottom layer can carry the name, phone number, and address. Once you are done on the top layer, you can work on inside part which basically contains the content of your message. Remember though that even if you have a lot of space to work with in a folded card that does not mean that you have to use all of it and stuff everything you want in your card.

Use of space. Using the space in your card has to be though of carefully. As much as possible, you need to avoid cluttering the design and using extremely small font. To avoid using small font, make sure that your details and information is concise and direct to the point. Deliver your message in the quickest and easiest way without you having to use every space in your business card templates.

Ideally, a folded card is like a mini brochure whose purpose is to tell as much information as you can to your prospects in a small package. It is very important to understand the importance of using the most of the space in your card, with the limited space you have.

Visualization. Never leave a huge blank space on your business card. Don't just put every detail and information into one corner. Remember that you have the liberty to divide the space in your card to make sure the design and info are well presented. Evenly divide the layout to make your card look effective. Keep in mind that a messy layout must be avoided at all costs. Likewise, avoid filling in every corner, as it leaves a large empty space in the center. But if you are going to use the corners of your card, be sure to create a layout to will work for your business. Just remember to keep everything defined and in order to ensure you create a great design.

An essay is a big no-no. When organizing your message in the card, be sure not to write an essay just to convince your potential customers why you are better than your competition. Just state the kind of work you do, and if you have more space you can include the awards and recognition your business has received. With people wanting to feel assured that the company they are going to deal with is a top company, your message will tell people that they can trust you. But be sure not to present them in an essay.

Call for addition information. If you want your prospects to learn more about you, then make sure your card tells your prospects that they should contact you. Pique the interest of your prospects by putting enticing statements in your card—something that will provide a definite encouragement to them.
