Money owed by clients; either a single entity or a whole company, to a business entity in return for services rendered or goods used but have not yet been reimbursed is referred as accounts receivable. They are obtained thru credit lines and are payable from a few days to one year.
An accounts receivable manager offers clerical, financial, and even administrative work to make sure that the payment of accounts are timely, efficient, and accurate, of course, under his or her jurisdiction.

He has to uphold a billing system that is current or up to date. They follow up payments. Allocation of payments is also done. They are also the ones to manage the collection of the payments. They reconcile the accounts so that the data is not scattered. They carry out the billing. Collection and reporting of activities according to exact deadlines are also done by an ARM (accounts receivable manager). They are the ones who monitor the details of client accounts who have not paid, delayed their payments or any other abnormalities thereof. Put differently, they will update the accounts receivable files of the different customers or clients.
These experts usually abides by methods that have been established for the dispensation of receipts, cash, and others. They are also responsible in filling out banks deposit slips, go down to the bank, and make transactions with the bank.
The account receivable manager also does the investigation and resolution of queries that are raised by the client. They are also the one who processes adjustments made. They will also be organizing a recovery system for the company that thy work for. They are also the ones who initiate the efforts for collection, though they dont have to do the actual collection themselves. But if the company that they are working for were just a small one they would have to do the collections themselves. That is how it is in small companies the employees have to do multi-tasking.
It is also the account receivable managers role to communicate with clients, whether it is through the telephone, through electronic mail, through the good old snail mail, or even a personal communication.
The account receivable manager must have characteristics like being keen to details, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, etc.
These experts are usually written down as assets because it corresponds to the client being obliged to pay for their balance in a short term.
