There are actually a lot of postcard marketing ideas that you can utilize in your business, and what’s best is that they are all relatively inexpensive to carry out. The postcards are basically a great option to extending gratitude to loyal patrons. The design can be irrelevant, but still it will tell your customers that you took the time and effort to think about them. And what’s best postcards are more likely to be read than sales letters. This means you get to generate sales leads and profit.

If you are a beginner and do not have the right skills in designing and creating postcards, you will find it hard to do this the first time. There are usually a lot of considerations when it comes to the design. But once you get used to it, designing and creating a post card for your business will just be a very easy task. If you are looking for great methods to design an attractive and effective post card for your business, you need to consider the coatings.

Have you ever noticed the light effects that happen on the surface of paper when direct light hits your cards? There are paper surfaces that will look intense when hit by light, but there are others that will usually look dull. This dramatic effect that you see on the surface is usually caused by the element that is applied on the paper. The common paper material that most printers use typically goes to a treatment that increases its physical appearance. This treatment is called paper coating. If done perfectly, a coating can give paper materials great and attractive look. Just like all post cards elements, these coatings can be used in several different reasons.

• Varnish – this type of coating is can be used in coating wood, and it is a colorless ink. Varnish is usually applied to the surface of the paper to give it an attractive gloss appeal. Aside from the added look, this kind of coating also gives protection to the paper against all harsh elements that can damage it such as water, dirt and many more. And unlike other available coating, varnish coating usually cost less. It can be applied together with the ink after it placed on the surface of the paper material.
• Laminate – this type of coating is usually placed on the paper surface to create a clear coating. It usually has two types which are the liquid and film laminate coating.
• Last but not the least is the aqueous coating – as the name implies, this type of coating is water based. This type of coating usually gives the paper considerable protection while giving your postcard printing a great and effective look.
