Before Research Paper Ideas The Advantageous Edge To Land Your Scholarship

I have had the opportunity of being an instructor for almost three decades, and involved in teaching for more than 3 decades. During that time period I have taught elementary, grades 9-12, college preparatory and most recently post high school students. For me, it was a constant struggle keeping lessons fun, interactive and rewarding for each student. As my classes focused on older students, making the gradual change from young to older, I noticed a consistent issue that each generation of kids became nearly terrified by: how to write a research paper.
Initially, I thought nothing of the response I received when asking for such assignments to be completed. At first, I simply defined the usual groaning as a student's dislike of my love for homework. But, what I was dismissing and defining as being disgruntled, actually had much more substance below the surface; these pupils were sometimes downright overwhelmed when they heard mention of a "research paper".
Worry about the something outside their comfort zone, being buried in heavy tomes, and not having a clue how to brainstorm research paper ideas was frequent. older teens envisioning a barrier to climb, because they were clueless about how to write a research paper, rarely truly believed me that in life's big picture, completing a dissertation, even one that was very lengthy, was barely a blip on the radar, compared to much more significant, life impacting challenges they'd eventually face as grownups. Those ideas fell on a non-responsive audience most of the time.
Unable to look towards the whole essence or the long overall result, their immediate reality was a looming deadline that could only be met by participating in something they weren't interested in, that conflicted with their extracurricular activities or that made them uneasy facing new challenges: how to write a research paper, and do it right - not just to pass or fail, but earn the marks that post-middle-school institutions, hold in high value.

When I first began teaching at the post high-school level I planned to give a full term assignment to write a research paper on a(n) subject of each student's most passionate concern.
The dean of our department warned me that this would cause me many headaches. He said that even at a university level, simply hearing that you have to write a research paper usually sent many students into a tail spin.
Determined, I ignored his best intentions and ventured into research paper territory. The first session of the course I handed out the curriculum for the class. This included the name of the course textbook, the dates of the tests and the requirement that everyone would write a research paper.
I explained that the quizzes as well as the participation in group-think would be a majority of the grade and the research paper would be the other 33%. In the same breath that possessing those skills seriously would make it more likely to win a grant or scholarship. I handed out schedules and deadlines for the dissertation. I wanted the topic they chose as well as a rough briefing completed in the first two weeks and then various updates on progress throughout the course.
My plan and execution of my set calendar dates "forced" the paper to be done in small chunks, rather than the typical giant one, when many students, kids or adults, sit down at the last minute and try to accomplish a mammoth amount worth of work in one all-nighter. Unnecessary worry and nervousness in my way of thinking. And with the basics of how to effectively write a research paper devoured in small chunks throughout the class, semester or year depending on course and / or school, initial panic about even the most simple section: not having a research paper outline example, seemed less and less a major undertaking.
Whether narrowing down a long series of passages formatted neat and succinctly summarizing research paper ideas, writing each necessary element, keeping each research paper properly formatted for an instructor who was known to be very picky about such particulars, or pacing themselves to guarantee term paper completion by the designated time, when deconstructed into smaller pieces, how to write a research paper fears slowly, but surely go away.
