iHome Alarm Clock Radio For iPod

The iHome Alarm Clock Radio has some definite advantages over older models and other brands, the most obvious being its size. At just 3.41” high, 5.59” long and only 4.16” wide, it’s small and sleek enough to fit on your nightstand with all the rest of the junk you already have on it, (like the remains of your late night food cravings). And it’s pretty cute too. The older models are a little bulky, and let’s face it, the reason you became an iPod junkie in the first place was also because they’re so modern and clean and slim – like we all want to be.

But seriously, it has some pretty cool features as well for its tiny frame. Basically, it’s everything you expect in an average alarm clock, except that in addition to the options of waking up to radio or the buzzer, the alarm could also begin as whatever song happens to be highlighted in your iPod. The iHome Alarm clock just keeps going down your playlist from there. The two advantages of this is that you wake up to the enjoyment of your own music, and if that’s enough to get you up, you can get dressed to your music without doing anything else to it till you’re ready to grab your device and head out. Of course if you don’t get dressed to music in the morning, you can just hit the snooze or use the programmable snooze feature.

The downside is that’s the only alarm; hit the snooze button (or program it) and there’s nothing else to wake you up. So, yes, it only has one alarm, but at least it’s your music. If you’re used to and count on multiple alarms on your phone, it might be a little frustrating to switch to just one. However, your phone used to only provide ringtones; it never played your music as an alarm. The iHome Alarm clock also allows you to easily synchronize your clock radio time to the one on your iPhone or iPad. Just place your phone/device on the slot on top of the alarm clock and press a button on its back; the clock will then synchronize itself.

The iHome Alarm Clock Radio retails for under $60 bucks, and though it’s still kind of basic, as far as alarm clocks go, it’s pretty updated and relevant to facilitate how we actually live. Other models that do that for us usually cost quite a bit more. For a selection of this and other iHome products, visit www.Tech-Chic.com.
