Stainless Digital Scale

There are dozens of applications in which a stainless steel, corrosive-resistant scale is a vital part of manufacturing and shipping. The importance of making sure your industrial scale is not easily damaged is a big factor in overhead cost; they often cost over $1000 to begin with. Who wants to keep replacing scales because they cannot withstand the rugged use they were intended for, or because they keep getting damaged by exposure to corrosive chemicals? The answer is to buy the appropriate stainless steel scale and digital readout for enhanced accuracy.

Chemical exposure can ruin a painted or galvanized product. Caustic chemicals such as chlorine, sulfur dioxide, chloride, carbon dioxide, ammonia, and hydrogen can mean the end of a regular industrial scale’s life. These substances eat away at its surface and can ruin the accuracy of the device. To counteract the risk of damage caused by chemical interaction between the scale’s surface and corrosive chemical agents, stainless digital scales can be coated with a corrosive- resistant substance. This will provide protection against common used chemicals and gases such as phosphate, sodium chloride, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, ammonia, chlorine and sulfur dioxide.

Often, a caustic chemical by-product is the result of a chemical’s interaction with oxygen or water. Common accidents involve the movement of drum containers, lift-trucks, and anything else used to store and transport these components. A puncture / tear leading to leakage of the product onto an expensive industrial scale that is not adequately protected with this coating can result in a loss of investment.

Such an accident can wreak havoc on a lesser scale, (that is not even made of stainless steel), causing corrosion damage not only to scale bed, but to the sensitive load sensors used to take accurate measurements. Having an inaccurate scale can cost you money and lead to a loss of trust in your product and/or business, which is an unacceptable risk.

Production facilities such as breweries, distilleries, chemical plants, paint and manufacturers, wastewater handling facilities, petrochemical refineries, dairy farms, and gas refineries can all benefit from a product that is resistant to chemical spills or their toxic byproducts. Replacing a digital, heavy-duty industrial scale can be a costly proposition, and so making sure you have one that is well-made to begin with will save you money over the long term.

The digital option means more accurate measurement than with an analog option; the results can be displayed on a computer, allowing for easier estimations, billing and cost analysis. Ethernet transfer options for in-office printing are available, as are memory cards and USB ports. Batching functions can be custom ordered for your applications. Safety is held in mind with the design and implementation of industrial, digital scales as well, with easy to read displays ensuring that a worker doesn’t need to be standing right over the weighing process, and transfer of information via computer allows for lowered exposure time to toxic fumes and chemicals.

Stainless steel scales are the most rugged you can buy, while digital scales are the most accurate. Why not buy a scale that combines the two technologies? The industrial and practical applications of these scales are virtually limitless. Literally hundreds of businesses and plants use industrial scales for the accurate measurement of their products, and rely on the safety and durability of a well-made, stainless digital scale.
