Many site owners pay too much attention to their bounce rate. Some other persons do not discern what bounce rate mean. Certain people use hours to reduce their bounce rate. Why? Because someone has told them to get those bounce rates ‘level down without even visiting their sites.

Many websites have high bounce rates. In my previous article I talked about bounce rate. What is bounce rate? Bounce rate is the quantity of visits to your website or landing page which a person left from the entrance of your website. If you have 42% or lower bounce rate means that your website is doing well and your visitors find your website’s content useful.

Why should You Concentrate on Content and Call to action on your page? If a client looks at your page and decides to call you or buy your product, you hit the jackpot although your bounce rate on your page is high. Thus bounce rate is not always the most important case on a website.

If you decide that your webpage become an authority website, as a part of your plan, you put a lot of glossary of terms on your page which is not a bad thing at all.

A high bounce-rate of 60% on a site with a high percentage of deep page entry-points indicate that users are being directed to the content which you want them to land on. This gives a good value to your website. For instance video sites have high bounce rates because the page leads a user to another page. This is not a bad thing , because you need to average the numbers over a longer period of time.
Sometimes numbers can trick and decide you. You see, when I create a page for a company, each page has a purpose, for example some pages are to get you buy some software while some other pages, are there to share information or increase folks’s awareness. For example: On this page “Norwegian Unemployment and social benefits (NAV)

I wrote about problems at Norwegian unemployment problems and work process at this organization. Here I tried to share information with persons to increase awareness while on this page “Anti Email Harvesting Script” I want to sell a script. As you see the differences, these pages have different purposes. One may have higher bounce rate while the other may have a lower bounce rate. Or This page is about SEO Norway that invites persons to try search engine optimization in Norway.

Privacy pages always have higher bounce rates up to 100%.

Conversions Aren’t Always Monetary

When you create a content for your website, you should cater it to your needs and your users’ needs. It does not matter if your page has a high bounce rate because sometimes we create a page to get back links such as article directory pages or landing pages.

Why should you care if your landing page is created for capturing leads? Of course the page gets high bounce rate. As long as you get subscribers, then who cares if the bounce rate is too high. You get your leads, more power to you. So high bounce rates are not always bad.
Let me put it this way, so long as you get results, don’t think about having high bounce rates. Do you know what bounce is good for? It is for you to see if your visitors visit more pages. What you should do is to concentrate on quality and results.
