For a truly cheap type of sticker printing, you will need to cut down a few extra elements from the production of your color stickers. There is always a cost to cheapness mind you. Cheaper stickers typically will mean lower quality sticker prints that you might not be as proud of in usual cases. However, if you truly need to optimize your money and sacrifice some design elements for stickers, then you will need to make the sacrifice. So, here are the things you should cut down to slash your costs for printing those stickers.

1. Reflective elements – Many sticker printing designs have reflective elements to make them stand out or look more distinct. This can be in the form of glossy inks, or it can also be embedded reflective elements such as glitters and plastics. All these things of course add extra costs to sticker printing. So if you want to print stickers cheaply, you might want to sacrifice these extra options. Do not worry, as long as you have a very unique and distinct color sticker design, these reflective elements won’t be much of a loss.

2. Large formats and configurations – Most stickers today are printed in large format. This is simply because most people think bigger is better when it comes to stickers. While this is right in most respects, for cheap sticker printing, a large format is not recommended. As you no doubt have realized, large color stickers are more expensive to print since they need a lot more paper and ink materials. That is why for the sake of cheap sticker printing quotations, you might want to go for the smaller formats. Again, it is not the size or the effects that matter really. If you thought of your sticker design very creatively, you won’t need large stickers to get your message across.

3. Design talent – Another big addition to the cost of sticker printing is the design talent. A typical layout artist will charge you a hundred bucks or so to design your color stickers. While that does guarantee a professional design, you can easily get a comparable design free by just downloading sticker templates free on the Internet and using that. So it is really possible to save money by just not using professional design talent. By just customizing your sticker templates you can still get that professional tough to the design, without really paying extra for professional help.

4. Expensive design software – It is a well known fact that design software is pretty expensive, especially the ones that are really powerful at their job. To cut down on sticker printing costs, you may want to sacrifice and NOT buy that expensive design software in favor of free ones. Applications like GIMP and OpenOffice can typically help you print cheaper stickers since they are free with no strings attached. This can really save you a lot of money, especially if you are just planning to create this layout as a onetime affair only.

5. Expert paper and ink materials – Lastly, you will also need to sacrifice some of the expert paper and ink materials that you use in your stickers if you want a cheaper printing process. Thick, glossy and protected paper of course will be expensive, and ink materials with special metallic coatings and glitters can also be equally expensive. By eliminating these items and using only simple paper and standard four color inks in your stickers, you can actually cut your printing costs from 10-30%. You won’t really need to use those types of materials anyway since standard paper and inks are already tough enough for most the jobs you want them for.

Great! Why don’t you starting cutting down your sticker printing costs now! Use the tips above to help you get more affordable printing rates easily.
