Make sure that you have compared all of the different types of motorcycle helmets if you have plans to buy a motorcycle helmets. You should have known its advantage and disadvantages since it is your safety that is at stake. However, if you havent got any then you have to read this in order to help you make a sound decision as to what kind of helmet you are going to buy.

First you should know that there are three kinds of helmets. The full faced motorcycle helmet, this is a kind of helmet in which your head is covered all over. Visor is provided in front for a clearer view and for prevention of heavy dust, snow, rain and other debris. This helmet is heavy compared with the rest of the two kinds of helmet; nonetheless, this one is the safest.

Next is the three quarter shell motorcycle helmet, this is similar to the full faced motor cycle helmet but this does not cover the entire face thus conversation can be pleasant because you can talk to the person right into his face.

The third is the Half Shell motor cycle helmet; it only wraps the top of the head and often times it is called as half motorcycle helmet, among the three, this helmet is the lightest and less safe to use. Though in some accidents this helmets have proved to save many lives.

Among the three helmets this half motorcycle helmet has more disadvantages since it only covers the top of the head and another thing is that it has no visors to protect the eyes. However, there is also an advantage to this kind of helmet. It is the weight, which is not so heavy that will cause a neck cramp like the other two. With this, the rider will be comfortable since this helmet is just close to not wearing a helmet.

You may have an idea as to what kind of helmet you will buy since you have read all of these. Be sure to consider your safety when you finally buy a helmet of your own. Style and comfort could be nice but you have to make certain that your priority is your safety.
If by chance you have opted for the half motorcycle helmet then make sure that you are driving very carefully and be extra cautious because you are not alone driving on the street. Always remember to keep yourself on the right pace and lane all the time.
