Frozen Air Brakes- Solution On Breaking Out Of Ice

Winter season could be a hassle to motorists especially when they have a long way travel. Aside from the snow on the road they have to deal with the moisture that is going to build up on their system which makes it difficult for them to operate their trucks. Normally due to this moisture build up their system freezes resulting to malfunction and accidents happen in a flash.

Among these systems of their trucks is the air brake. When moisture build up air brakes usually freeze. When this thing happens this are the things for you to do to loosen it up. First you have to set the bakes into lock position then disconnect the air line that is being blocked with ice to have ventilation or let the air flow, this would help unclog the pipe then reconnect it again.

To remove the remaining ice crystals put some alcohol using the alcohol injector through the system it will because it will just spread by itself through the air brake system. When it is done you turn your petcock valve to flush the air brake tanks. When you have done this all you can let your truck now run the problem is solve.

Remember that this is a recurrent problem particularly to drivers who are always traveling on a snowy area. It could not be avoided that your truck most especially your air brakes would accumulate moisture and would finally freeze. To prevent any of these problems you should always bring alcohol with you in your alcohol injection in case of emergency. You have to always check your alcohol injection if it is working before you leave to ensure your safety.

Bear in mind that you mechanical tools are necessary. Before you go on traveling in a snow filled zone you better check your tool box if your tools are complete. Do not neglect your wrench and screwdrivers because those are the most primary tool you will need in case there is something wrong with your vehicle.

But the most important thing check your air brakes first before you leave, check its functionality whether it is functioning well and if there are already moisture or a little ice crystals piling in the pipe line in order for you to avoid stopping in some deserted area where criminals are abound. Having done all of these precautions you are now prepared to go on your long journey in the snow.
