Bench Scale with Printer

Do you need to be able to weigh items and catalogue them? If so, a bench scale with printer might be just the thing to suit your personal or business needs. Bench scales are small industrial quality scales that are used to weigh small to medium sized items, such as mail, jewelry, coinage, medicinal components and other lab applications, as well as many other types of smaller sized products.

You need to consider your specific industry requirements when choosing a bench scale with printer, because depending on what you are measuring, you might need an ultra-precision scale with Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) technology in order to ensure the most accurate readings, (such as in laboratory applications). Or maybe you just need a highly durable one that can take years of abuse, such as one that comes with a stainless steel pan or die cast aluminum frame (postal applications). Once you’ve picked the appropriate scale for your business, then you need to think about how else it can make your life easier.

While it’s true that most people only expect a scale to have accurate weight readings, you can expect more from it. Actually, perhaps you need to get more from it for your business to run smoother. It can be quite time-consuming, particularly if you are constantly weighing your products, to have to separately weigh and record the measurement of each item. There is a solution for you: a bench scale with printer functions.

These sophisticated scales will weigh your item and catalog them for you in various ways, and when you’re done, it will print all the measurements for you without you having to do anything thing else. How much faster will that make each task? How much more productive could that make your entire day?

These printers are able to accomplish this extra job for you by utilizing different technologies, and again you need to pick the right application for your context.

* ome use a remote interface called RS-232. This set up is a communication protocol that can transmit data between different computerized equipment. Once you’ve installed this software, your bench scale can talk directly to your printer as it weighs your products; it does this completely remotely.
* Some bench scales have been wired for use with internet/Ethernet, so you can simply plug in the device and connect to it using Remote Indicator Software (developed by ArlynScales), to get it to transmit and print data.
* You can also simply use a USB connection to get your scale to speak to your PC. Using Remote Indicator Software, you can get your bench scale to send information directly to an Excel spreadsheet or Access database file on a PC.
* The most intelligent option if you need to connect several scales to a PC, is to implement RS-485 Protocol. This protocol allows you to log data from up to ten scales on to one PC, because all the scales share a single line of connection.
* Your commercial platform scale needs to be able to accommodate the capacity relevant to what kind of load you will be weighing on it. Commercial load capacities start at 500lbs and can support far beyond that, but heavier capacity models will have a correspondingly higher price.
* That the display is housed in a robust enclosure, and has stainless steel load sensors. Any other type of material and your sensor will not wear well under prolonged, commercial use.

Do you currently have a scale that makes you work twice as hard, because it weighs, but you record? Ditch it and get one that will work twice as hard for you, freeing up your time and/or your employees’ time, so you can move on to other duties and increase your business’ productivity.
