Clausing Drill Press

A Drill Press is a heavy duty fixed drill used in many different machining industry applications, as opposed to hand-held drills used by amateurs. It may be used directly on the shop floor if it is a pillar drill type, or mounted on a secure stand if it a bench drill version. They evolved from old pillar drills that were used either in factories or on the field (earth) directly. It has a base, a column (called the pillar), a table, a spindle, and of course the drill head. The drill head is commonly powered with the use of an induction motor.

According to industrial drill press manufacturer Clausing, hole-making is serious business, so they make their drill presses to be as strong as possible. They have built a reputation in the machining industry for the quality of their equipment, and as such, their drill presses are ubiquitous throughout machining plants across the country—and even the world.

Here at Machinery Values, we pride ourselves on being able to bring you quality brands such as Clausing for your drilling needs. We have a couple different versions, such as swing Clausing drill presses (radial arm version) and regular spindle head versions. The radial arm drill presses have the advantage of being able to function over a large work area without having to reposition the work piece. This is because the radial arm is made move relative to the base. Also, you can use a vise with it or just secure your part directly to the base. The largest radial arm drill presses can make holes up to four inches wide.

At Machinery Values, we also have Clausing drill presses with variable speeds, tilt tables, slotted tables, tables that can move up and down, and electrical controls. All our models are mechanically hand-fed devices. In addition, your Clausing drill press can accomplish other tasks at your plant if you use accessories such as mounting sand drums or honing wheels, to sand, polish and hone your parts. Make sure to check if chuck arbor could be dislodged in any of these applications however, as that can be unsafe.

Most of our Clausing drill press models are 20” swings, but as we buy used machines in good condition, we may have any number of different sizes available at any point in time. With us, you therefore have the option of buying a brand new Clausing drill press or a used Clausing drill press in great condition. You can rest assured that if you buy a used model, it will work for you the first day it is on the floor. Remember, they were built tough by Clausing to begin with.
