Are you sure that your themes or concept designs are apt for fundraising calendars? While fundraising calendars is one of the more freely creative fundraising ideas out there, there are still some professional and even ethical standards when it comes to their themes. Let me give you a few important questions that you should ask about you fundraising calendars. If you can answer them properly, you should be able to precisely determine if your calendar themes can be good and successful for fundraising.
1. Does the theme contribute to the “cause”? – One of the biggest questions that you should ask about your calendar theme is if it contributes to the cause. Many fundraising calendars may have great and often innovative themes, but they can actually be too far or too unrelated to the main reason for fundraising. If your theme is like that, then obviously it should not really be for your fundraising campaign. A true fundraising calendar complements or is related to the cause itself. Otherwise the whole importance of the fundraising cause is diminished in the theme.

2. Is the theme appropriate for the calendar “audience”? – It is also important to ask if the theme is actually appropriate for the calendar audiences. While we may get caught up with all the interesting and creative things we can do for our custom calendars (especially the provocative ones), you should always be careful with the content. Those calendars can sometimes be displayed in open areas. So make sure that all the design elements are appropriate for everyone who will potentially see your fundraising calendars. We won’t want to tarnish the innocence of kids and other sensitive individuals with a creative an inappropriate theme.
3. Is there a real market for that theme? – It is also important to ask yourself if there is really a market for the theme you are making. While it may look good, and many people might like it, your general market might not be as responsive as you might like them to be. There are a lot of variables in today’s market that you have to take into account. One theme that was popular last year might not be as effective this year and yours might not have the pulling power in this season. So make sure that you do some market research first to determine if you really have a market for such a calendar theme.
4. Are the design elements made with professional quality? – You should also try to analyze if your design elements are really made in professional quality. Are all the images crisp and clear? Does your theme use original images or only clip arts? Is the image rendering seamless or are there any odd cuts or pixels in blending? A professional fundraising calendar theme is always made in high quality. If it does not have that smooth and seamless quality then you should not consider it for calendar printing.
5. Is the design compatible with its environment? – Finally, try to see if the design is compatible with the environment that it is meant to go to. Is the color scheme chosen good for most wall colors? Will the design be good for an office environment or a home environment? It is important to ask these things so that people will actually buy your fundraising calendars. If they look off or bad in the environments that they will possible go to, then you should reinvent your theme to something better.
So? Is your calendar theme appropriate for fundraising calendars? Try to use the questions above to help you figure it out. Good Luck!
