Every business owner would tell you that the business card is your stepping stone to getting known in the market. A unique, engaging, and compelling business card is one of your best allies in reaching your target market. Your business card will actually serve as a mini brochure that will advertise your business to everyone. The image that your card conveys should convince your prospects that you are the one to transact business with. In order to do that, you need to define first your business image. To do that, you need to answer the following questions:

1. How do you want your customers to see you? Should they see you as someone trustworthy and responsible? Or someone creative and innovative? You need to choose one characteristic that best describe your business.

2. Is your business image distinct and memorable? Does the image make you stand out in the market? As much as possible, you need to present a unique appeal to your prospects in order for them to remember you.

3. Is your current business card able to live up to your image? If not, it’s time you create a new one for your business.

You need to take careful consideration in creating your image in your business cards. You need to realize that competition is stiffer today that in the past. If you want to get good sales and customer base, you need to create the best business card. Here are several suggestions you can follow in making your business card project your business image:

• Create reader friendly business card. You can do this by providing enough white space in your business card templates. Don’t stuff your card with too many details. This will only make your card look unorganized and confusing. Keep in mind that people don’t like reading lengthy paragraphs. So, keep it short and simple.

• Use the standard size. Don’t get easily tempted in being too creative in your card. Of course, you can put creative designs in your card, but leave the size to its standard form. Be sure that you card fits any standard business card holder as a card that is too bulky to keep might end up in the trash bin.

• Keep your card updated. No one wants to call a number that doesn’t work. If you do this, you will be losing a good number of customers. So as soon as you change number or address, be sure to change the contact details in your business card as well.

• Create more than one business card to reflect the different products or services you offer. If you have several businesses that offer different products and services, be sure to create one business card for each distinct service.
