Have you every done any cold calling? It certainly is charactor building if nothing else. Most people will not want to be bothered and so many are content in not being content with their job and their life. Remember you are looking for the 3% that will actually do something and change their lives. When you think about cold calling realize that you probably would not take advantage of the opportunity if someone called you. That is an easy way to be looked at as selling a scam. Buying leads is this a good way to build you mlm business? Let's take a closer look at lead generation through purchasing leads. If you google the words "mlm leads" what comes up? List after list of companies that can help you if you purchase mlm leads through them. Each advertises hot leads, current leads, pre-qualifeid leads, no bad leads, and the list goes on and on. How do you know that the same list and the same leads have not been sold to other network marketers? Is there any proof that the leads are even recent and actively looking for a home based business? Not really, the only way to find out is to start calling and talk to these people live. Also not a very effective stratagy. The percentage of the people on your lead list are not looking for you or your opportunity.
Is there a reason that neither of these methods seem to work very well to get leads for your business? Let's examine why cold calling and buying leads both have such a low rate of return. Network marketing is a business based on relationships. If you do not have any type of relationship with these people it will not work well. You need trust and credibility to build a mlm business and it just is not there with cold calling or purchased leads. Think of who initially got you involved with your network marketing company. It was a friend, relative, co-worker, or at the very least a friend of someone who knows you. Am I right? You could pitch all you want with little to no results to people who just don't know what a great person you are and what a great business you are part of and it will not be effective. You need to build relationships first then start to show others the opportunity you are part of.
How do you build these relationships and where do you connect with others who are looking for a home based business opportunity? The answer is found through the internet. Building a mlm business on the internet is not a one step idea it takes a little time and knowledge to do this. You need to find the answers from others who have already been successful at building a large and profitable home based business online. This method is a layered method. The internet is so vast that you could easily become lost in all the others trying to get their message out through the internet. You need a established plan to help you along the way. With FaceBook, google, YouTube, twitter, MySpace, and all the others what does a person do? How do you choose and what is involved in being part of these communities? Find the information that you need to start building relationships online with others who are also looking to build a strong mlm business.
