Mazak horizontal machining centers offer products meant to raise production and lower labor costs. Offering manufacturing equipment capable of fast tool changes, high precision and a variety of modular automation options, labor costs are lowered because of fewer required man-hours of operation for high production runs. Horizontal machining is the answer to high-production requirements, with the use of automation and the capabilities for small runs and one-off prototypes. Benefits of choosing a Mazak horizontal machining center include its inherent rigidity, offering greater speeds with more stability, excellent precision and repeatability. Large tool capacities mean variety of applications that can be used for uninterrupted lengths of machining runs. Having a smaller footprint than other, similar machines means less manufacturing floor space, and greater capacity for room around the machine, to ease tool changes and maintaining the machine itself. They offer 3-, 4- and 5-axis machining capabilities, with two pallet changers coming standard on most models. They are configured for robot loading/unloading/ and secondary operations integration.
Every HCN model comes standard with Mazatrol Matrix CNC controllers, offering simple operational programming, along with onboard monitoring and diagnostics capabilities.

The HCN 5000 series of horizontal machining centers is a cost-effective way to get high performance out of a compact footprint machine.
The HCN Nexus series boasts wide machining areas and large table capacities, and features a large range of spindle powers and speeds. Designed for ease of maintenance and offering a wide variety of tool magazines, its one-piece base design and core-cooled ball-screws also offer speed and accuracy.
HMC Series’ many attributes feature stability and unequaled accuracy, with high productivity capabilities and rugged performance. There are a large number of configurations, and minimal thermal distortion. Mazatrol CNC controls come standard on most Mazak horizontal machining centers, with FANUC available on some models. Patented Pallatech palletized machining systems feature pre-engineered automation that can serve one machining center with a couple of pallets, or up to eight machining centers with one hundred pallets. There’s an onboard scheduler, in which jobs can be lined up and prioritized for hands-off operation. Re-prioritizing is easy, with smart computer controlling.
Mazak now features environmentally friendly design with greatly decreased air consumption on most machines, decreased machine weight and a smaller floor footprint. More efficient cutting capabilities and powerful spindles raise productivity without an attendant amount of energy, allowing for higher production rates with the same energy consumption. Operators find the space efficient designs allow for greater ease in operation and in machine maintenance, and easy-to-use top cover openings allow for loading large work pieces into the machines with overhead cranes. There are easily maintained front-loading oil pans, and improved table designs for easy access to the machining areas.
Machinery Values carries an impressive array of Mazak horizontal machining centers, with operating manuals and service manuals coming standard, as do warranties and excellent customer service. Simple browsing offers statistics and pricing on each machine, with customer service available to answer any questions you might have on Mazak or other manufacturers of horizontal machining centers.
