Are Fundraising Calendars Plausible for Your Campaign

The quest to get extra funds for your project or campaign can sometimes lead you to consider fundraising calendars. Using custom calendar layouts to sell to a willing market is a proven method in getting some quick cash for a special project, especially at the turn of the year. However, before you go headlong into developing your fundraising calendars you should first ask yourself if it is really plausible and effective for our campaign.

Listed down below are the important questions that you should answer first to decide if custom calendar printing for fundraising is indeed best for your campaign. Just go through the list to discover what you really can do.

a. Is it the right time? – Of course, one of the first things that you should figure out is if it is the appropriate time. As we touched on above, fundraising using custom calendars is only effective if you do it around the turn of the year. Of course, you should not plan on developing your fundraising calendars at that specific time frame. Those times are for deployment. It is best to design and plan your custom calendars out, weeks and months before that time. So ask yourself, is it the right time now to be using color calendars for fundraising? Will you be able to deploy them in time? If you can’t, then maybe it is best to postpone it to next year.

b. Is the market amiable? – You should also ask if the market you are targeting is receptive to buying creative fundraising calendars. Typically, if you are selling calendars for a cause, the price is a little bit higher than other typical color calendars. So you must see if your target market is willing enough to pay a little extra for that cause or if you need to give them incentives such as a more creative and “collectible” calendar. Your target markets must have at least these characteristics or else printing calendars for fundraising won’t really work. So do your research and see if the market is receptive enough for your calendars.

c. Do you have the tools? – You should also of course turn your questions inward and see if you have the tools as well in creating your own custom calendars. Do you have the software to design calendars? Do you have the proper camera? Do you have a good computer and a printer? If you do not have these things on hand, you are still unprepared to develop and use calendars for fundraising. You should first try to get the tools you need before really planning all the way for calendar printing.

d. Do you have the talent? – If you are not making your calendars on your own, it is important also to ask yourself if you have the hired talent to do the job for you. The key to creating great fundraising calendars is to have a great photographer for the images, and an expert layout artist for the calendar layout. If both of these are not really available for your design (and you do not have any effective knowledge about calendar design) then it is not worth developing custom calendars. Calendar printing is a big investment and you should not waste it on amateur content and design.

e. Do you have the resources? – Lastly, ask yourself if you have enough resources for calendar printing. It might sound cheap, but some high quality color calendars will need a significant amount of money for its production. So try to budget out your calendar printing and make sure it is practical for you to invest that money for fundraising.

Great! Hopefully, once you answer all these questions, you should easily know if you calendar printing is plausible for your fundraising campaigns. Good luck!
