Golf Club Selection For All Levels of Play

Golf club selection is critical to getting out on the green and playing a good round of golf. Knowing which clubs to buy (and when to use them) is one of the most essential elements of learning how to play a solid game. The standard golf set includes three woods, ten irons and a putter. However, selecting your golf clubs will vary depending on your level of golf expertise; here, we break down how to select golf clubs for beginner, intermediate, and advanced golfers. Follow this advice and you will be out on the green with your new clubs in no time!

Beginners, be sure to remember this key point when buying golf clubs: forgiveness. If you are a novice golfer, you値l want to buy clubs that will allow for the maximum amount of forgiveness, so to speak; you値l want clubs that will take a mediocre shot and manage to turn it into something playable. Purchase a club with an oversize club head in order to compensate for inconsistent contact葉he oversize clubs provide fewer missed hits.

Likewise, buying shorter clubs will maximize your potential to have more accurate club to ball contact. Woods are recommended for beginners over irons, as their large heads and flat soles make it easier to make both contact with the ball and hit it farther. Beginners should buy mallet putters with large heads; these putters are well aligned, making it easier to hit that short putt straight into the hole!

Intermediate level golfers will have slightly different priorities when selecting their golf clubs. The intermediate does not need clubs that offer quite as much forgiveness as the beginner; instead, as an intermediate you should feel free to branch out and choose clubs that give you more control.

You should still have an oversized driver that will allow you to make a good amount of contact with the ball. Further, the correct shaft selection is becoming increasingly important at this level. Pick a shaft that will complement your swing speed. While you may have gotten quite comfortable with the same putter you used as a beginner, you might also want to branch out by selecting a maxed mallet putter.

Advanced golfers have a strong command of the game and make solid hits. However, now it is time to add a little finesse to your swing by selecting the perfect clubs! Start with some real players irons that will allow you to have control of the ball, moving it easily both to the left and right.

Find a driver with a bit less loft (degree of the angle at which the face of the club lies relative to a perfectly vertical level). In choosing a driver, you must really take into account your swing speed; spend some time checking out a number of different drivers and don稚 buy until you are completely comfortable with it.

As a golfer, selecting your golf clubs is going to be one of your most important decisions and will impact every facet of your golf game. So, take some time to figure out your level of playing, and then choose your golf clubs accordingly. The time and effort you make in selecting appropriate clubs will be directly reflected in your game.
