It’s no secret that a good marketing strategy is what propels a business to success. Just ask the successful business today. Even if they are already earning millions, they still invest on an effective marketing campaign to ensure people patronize them. So, if you are a startup or small business, the more important it is to invest in a good marketing plan. After all, you are still working on getting a good customer base, so it is critical that you have a strong marketing plan to back you up.

With the various marketing strategies you can use today, print marketing is where you should start. Though digital marketing is growing popular these days, print marketing is still the most effective way to reach your target clients. Most people, after all, are not computer savvy. Chances are many of the people you meet in events or in the street are the ones who will turn into profitable customers.

Print marketing includes brochures, sales letters, catalogs, post cards, posters, and the ever reliable business cards. Among these materials, the business cards are the most important material that you should always have. As these cards contain your contact information, your target customers are given the means to contact you in case they need your products or services.

But though the job of the business card is simple, many business owners still don’t know how to use this card properly. Though it contains your contact details, a business card should be given to just about anyone and everyone. Your business card should be given only to those who ask for it. So, when do you hand out your business cards?

• During family events. When you have just opened a business, family members can help you find customers who might need your products or services. You can give each of your family members three of your business cards to give out to people they know who might need your services.

• At business events and conferences, engage in a conversation with people, but before concluding your talk ask for their business card. When they ask for yours, give it out but if they don’t then don’t give it. Only when it is proper should you give out your cards. Do not hand it out like flyers if you want to maximize its use.

• When receiving business cards, be sure to thank the giver. Read it and ask questions if you have any to show the giver that you are interested in him or his business. After giving out your card, be ready to answer questions as well.

• When attending corporate meetings, be sure to give out your business card before the meeting starts. This is a good way to introduce yourself in the shortest time possible. Be sure not to sell anything when handing out your cards.

• During meetings, walk around the room and meet people. Learn everything you can about them and don’t forget to give your card to the right people.

How you use your business card printing will effectively affect how you position yourself in the market. Keep in mind that what is written in your cards speaks about you and your business. When you use your cards properly, it’s like your recipients are talking to your personally. So use and distribute your cards properly and you are sure to attain business success.
