Kaziranga National Park Is All Set For Its Doubling Of the Present 430 Square Kilometers Area

Good news for all the animals and animal lovers of the Kaziranga National Park because the Assam Government is all set to complete a legal process for doubling the present 430 square kilometers area of the National Park.
They are trying to settle this land acquisition process so that the animals, comprising the prized one-horned rhinos, are better protected. Though the Kaziranga National Park already has around 800-square- kilometer-area but it is not officially sanctioned.

“Steps are being taken to plant saplings in 20,000 hectares. A process was also on to raise an Assam Forest Protection Force” remarked a minister.
Kaziranga National Park has always been a title of a noteworthy success story of preservation of one horned India Rhinoceros and other wild lives in the North East India. The park has been the homeland of the Great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros, but today it is counted among best national parks that provide the safest shelter to wild lives like tiger as well.
Lies partly in Nagaon District of Assam and partly in Golaghat, Kaziranga National Park is an oldest park in Assam that covers an area of 430 Sqkms along the river Brahmaputra on the North and the KarbiAnglong hills on the South. The National Highway 37 passes through the park area and tea estates, hemmed by table-top tea bushes. One can even see the rhinos and wild elephants straying near the highway. Kaziranga National Park a world heritage site is famous for the Great Indian one horned rhinoceros; the landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes & shallow pools.
On being the finest wildlife sanctuary India, Kaziranga National Park is among the last areas in eastern India undisturbed by a human presence. It is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including elephants, tigers, panthers, bears and thousands of birds. The park is open from November to April.
