We all know that most of the people in all parts of the world have either already eaten chocolate or will eat chocolates. People love chocolate and there is small reason why not to. They are sweet and delicious and can make you feel warm and giddy inside. However most people dispute this and discourage people from eating them because they say that its bad for the health. However, this isn't exactly true because chocolate has its medicinal properties as well. Below are some of the advantages as well as the disadvantages of eating chocolate.
We begin with the benefits. When eating chocolate, a persons brain releases endorphins, which is commonly called the happy hormone, which makes the person feel elated and generally joyful. One more chemical that can be found in chocolates is called tryptophan which aids the brain to function better and makes the person feel elated and excited so its a double hit of joy and happiness from the chocolate. Additionally, antioxidants, which are commonly found it wine and teas, can also be found in chocolate. Studies have shown that a good supply of antioxidants in the body can help prevent, heart disease and cancer and it can also shield the cells from the damages that are caused by some toxins. These treats are a good source of cholesterol which is good for the body. Chocolates also have a direct effect on the cardiovascular system of the consumer because it contains flavanoid which facilitates the blood flow of the body.

Now for the disadvantages. Even though most of the chocolates made today are already low in calories and fat, they do still have oil in them which may transfer fat to the heart which can cause cardiac problems in the future. This is the reason why you should really check the labels of the chocolates before consuming it. There are women who have reported that they have chocolate cravings during pre-menstruation. Primary reason for this is because chocolate has magnesium in it and a decrease in the supply of magnesium can worsen pre-menstrual tension. This treat also has trace amounts of caffeine in them so this will have some minimal effect on the alertness of the person.
Recommended serving for chocolate on a week should only be 7 ounces so you are only allowed to eat 1 once of chocolate per day. Anymore than that can lead to the disadvantages stated above.
