The stores selling wood pellet or wood heaters and various kinds of fireplaces know it: this is the period in which those who already have heaters or fireplaces repair them and prepare them to work, with cleanings and little works of improvement; those who still haven’t got any, instead, buy them.
Nowadays, houses have central heating, with radiators in every room; but fireplaces, gas of classic wood ones, modern or rustic, have a special charm, making the place warm and welcoming.
Most of all the northern cities, of course, have to face colder winters; in northern Italy, cold and the typical humidity of the Po Valley, from which rise its proverbial fogs, make sure that the stores in Padua, Milan, Turin and other cities in the northern Italy are particularly well-provided.
Choosing a wood pellet heater grants an exceptional heating and an economic saving on the combustible used: the wood pellet, in fact, comes from drained sawdust compressed into little cylinders less than a centimetre long.

After all, a “night around the fireplace” evocates memories of romantic nights, or nights with friends immerged in long chats, or even alone, reading a good book or listening to good music...summing up, they are all positive images which rise seeing or thinking about a fireplace.
Saying that a fireplace warms up the room, in fact, surely has a physical value, which refers to the effective warmth that produces; but there’s also another aspect, which is the psychological value, which refers to the capability of the fireplace to make the room in which it is situated more welcoming...”warm”.
The adjective “warm”, in fact, can be referred both to a sensation of physical warmth and to a psychological feeling of wellness which brings back to the idea of protection that a house gives when outside it’s cold. A “warm” place is defined as welcoming, it offers a repair to those who enter, making them feel “at home”: concepts of hospitality relative not only to the place itself, then, but also to the qualities of a good householder, who is the main responsible for the “warmth” of the place and creates the feeling of a welcoming place for the guests making them feel at their ease. Maybe offering a good cup of tea in front of a lightened fireplace.
