It's not simply copywriters who need to understand motivation. Motivation is not simply for selling products and services. Each author wants to perceive at least the fundamentals of motivation.
Why?
As a result of they have two totally different individuals that they can need to motivate. Strongly motivate. Their target reader and themselves.
Frankly unless you understand motivation you won't understand what you need to try and do to get your target reader to scan your book. And if you can't encourage your target reader to actually browse your book then you will have a serious problem. A book while not a reader is a poor, sad thing. All alone on a bookshelf. Awaiting its cover being ripped from its back for come back to the publisher. The remains unceremoniously disposed of.

However there is a worse fate. A book that's never written. A book that's awaiting the author to urge off their rear and truly start to write. As a result of if you never sit down to put in writing you may never have a book for someone to read.
That's why you wish to understand motivation. Not only thus you can write your book to interest your readers. But so that you'll write your book at all.
There are four models of motivation that give the essential info a writer wants to make sure they write the book and their reader is interested enough to scan the book.
The primary model is Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. First revealed in 1943, it has been questioned many times relating to the validity of its testing. But for our purposes it's sufficiently correct. This model indicates that people have a hierarchy of needs. Which in order to be motivated by one need, for instance respect, all lower wants (e.g. safety, or sustenance) should have already been sufficiently satisfied.
The second model is generally called the Mental State model or the Psychological Energy Model. It suggests that as a problem is addressed a person moves through various states, from emotions through thinking a downside through. So as to make each move it's necessary for energy to be provided. In other words, individuals solve issues because they're given some form of impetus to move through the emotional and mental layers necessary to really solve the problem.
The third model is probably the most common model used to describe motivation. The 3 motivators model states that individuals are motivated by any one of 3 things. The smallest amount motivating is the will to realize a positive outcome. The foremost motivating is an on the spot problem. In the middle is the will to avoid a negative outcome.
The ultimate model relates to alter and our handling of change. It states merely that people tend to remain at their current state. Why? As a result of they perceive the conditions that created that state. And as a result of those conditions continue to influence them to stay in the state they are in, they aren't willing to change. Essentially, resistance to change is extremely not recognizing the advantages of the change.
