Surely you have seen television ads that ask the consumer to "call now" or "visit our website for more information." This is direct response marketing at its finest, and direct response television marketing has proven time and time again to be one of the most effective methods used to build brand awareness.

So, how does a company build brand awareness with direct response television marketing?

1. Identify your target audience. This is an important aspect in any form of marketing, yet it is often overlooked.
