Students in high school are looking forward to their prom night because this officially marks their entry into adolescence. Girls would want to stand out during prom but not so much as to be called too out of occasion. Sure, the designer gowns are great but they are very impractical especially during these hard times. Here are some tips on dressing up for prom while still keeping in with your budget.

Initially, you must identify which body type you belong to. You can belong to either the petite type, husky type, pear-shaped body, hourglass-shaped body, or slender-shaped body. Body type will have their corresponding dresses to make a perfect fit. Those who have a petite body frame and have bought dresses from the regular womens section will certainly need some alterations and adjustments. For those who are in the petite category, try to wear one color from head to toe. This will give you more elongated lines which makes you look taller.. For those with pear-shaped bodies, try to wear dresses that will draw the attention of the crowd to your shoulders and your top-half. This method will give the illusion that your lower and upper half are of proportionate size and shape.

For those who have the slender-shaped body or those having slim figures and generally small busts, focus on this area would be the way to go. Try picking out tops or blouses that have ruffles on them or shirring with bright colors. This will give the illusion that you have a much bigger bust than it would seem. For those with the hour-glass shaped body or what we commonly refer to as the dream figure should wear dresses that expose all their natural curves. A-line or pencil type skirts are examples of these kind of apparel. Wrap blouses and strapless dresses are great ideas as well. With regards to choosing the color for hour-glass shaped bodies, it is highly recommended that the upper half should be light colored and the bottom half should be dark hues. This will give emphasis on the womans waist which gives the wearer an even sexier appearance. As much as possible, try to avoid big and baggy clothes because they will make you look baggy and sloppy.

Now that you have these tips, make sure that you dazzle the crowd with your confidence the moment you make your grand entrance.
