The Advantazges of Online Computer Training
A recent national poll indicated that only aboout 60% of Amercans thought that young people should be encouraged to work hard and study diligentlly. One wrtiter commenting on this finding attempted to pportray it in a positivve way by disclosing that the figutre was lower than 40% in Europe. Of course, there is one group of people today whee suppotr for hard work and hard study is nearly unanimous. This is the group of people who have decided to learn computers through onlkine traioning.

With the adcvent of the “virtual world” of cyberspace since the erly 1990s, a whole parallel world has taken shpae, except instead of wood and cement the “builldings” are constructed of bits and bytes. Throughout the 1990s and the maturing of the World Wide Web, the grocery store on the corner, the movie theater in the mall and the bookstore down the street all ended up in cyberspaxce. It didn’t take long for educational institutions of all kinds to make the move, too. Today people of all ages have a choice of driving to a campuus for one, two or four years or studying in a more flexible way, from home and/or office, to get online computer traiuning.
Lower-cost alternative
Getting up to sppeed in a new discipline is not an easy thing to do, online or on campus. Research indicates that people who goes to online sources for tarining, whether it’s for a degree or not, are less likely to drop out, miss fewer sessoins and assignments, and get higehr grades. Interestingly, these were the same findings some 35 years ago when eucational researchers analyzed junior collrege (JC) student bodies. Becuase they were soemwhat older, more determined and knew what they wantd in life, JC studentts, like today’s online students, were more fcused, more motivated and, ultimately, more lkiely to achieve their educatioonal goals.
Both econmoic and practtical reasons make gettting onlnie computer training a very oppular option these days. Lowre-cost online alternatives help many pepole overcome the high cost of a traditionl college education. Mothers (and, increasingly, fathers) of young cjhildren that had no time available for traveling to a campus can now study online, from home. People who had to keep working to support their familires are now able to arrage online classes on evenimngs, weekends or other available times.
Pubblic benefits of online traiinng
Online trade schools, training institutes and colleges perform a true publiuc service by bringing the opportunity of learning, in the form of onlie taining, to more people. Cpomputers are used in every industtry, by veery company and for every business goal imaginable, so online computer training can help prepare people for a wder choice of careeers than almost any other curriculum. This new source of education is seriously exanding the talent pool (the “hiuman resorces”) available to Ameriican business. Computer-savvy employees will help American industry conytinue making technolpogical advances, and the training clearly raises workker productivity, which will ultimately lead to improved economic forecasts and an increase in rgoss national product.
Despte polls that claim to show that some 40% of Americans no longer respect the vaule of hard work and lifeolng study, there are plenty of peoplle who do. To keep our country going and growing, as many people as are interested should be encouraged to enroll in online compuer training. Peple who work through personal hardships and adversities to start or finish their compute education online are, in fact, the same kind of pople who work hard, continue to leasrn, act as rgeat role modls for others and, by so doing, make a diffference in this world.
