Marble tiles have become a popular wall and flooring choice for interior decorators and individual home owners. Interior decor, like women’s fashion, follows trends. But today, marble tiles are easily affordable for the home owner who wants the sizzle of grandeur without paying the high price.
But it is not just aesthetics that make marble tiles a desirable selection for home decor. They are also practical. Marble is a hypoallergenic material making it an ideal choice for people with allergies. Since marble is dense, there are no microscopic openings for irritants to hide and multiply as is the case with wood and fiber floor coverings. Plus marble is easily treated with disinfectants.
Marble tile flooring is also easy to clean. A quick sweep with a broom and once over with a mop quickly does the job. This is an advantage in a tropical climate or beach setting where sand is constantly tracked into the home. Marble tiles are also ideal in tropical and warm climates as the floors are always cool. And as marble is a highly durable material, floors are long lasting and scratch resistant.
There are a myriad of patterns and colors available so marble tiles can be used in any room in the house. Senior citizens no longer have to shy away from marble flooring out of fear of slipping as non-slip marble floor tiles are also available. Further, because of their hygienic properties and ease of cleaning, marble tiles are also an excellent choice for kitchen counter tops and the wall areas just above the counter and around the stove. They are practical for any area that requires a sanitary, easy to clean surface.
And marble tiles aren’t just for floors; they are also ideal for walls and counter-tops. Since marble lavatories are also available, an entire bathroom can be furnished with marble tiles resulting in a room that is beautiful, luxurious and at the same time hygienic.
The wide availability of colors, sizes and styles ensures that marble tiles can be used in any home to add an air of luxury coupled with the practicalities of low maintenance and long lasting materials. Marble tiles will continue to enhance the appearance of the home well beyond the life span of other building materials.
