What is a CNC mill? CNC is an acronym for “Computer Numerical Control.” It is a computer-converted design made by Computer Aided Design (CAD) software that turns design into numbers that are graphed and control the movements of a cutter, or mill. Milling is the process of forming materials by cutting away excess by feeding the material past rotating cutting blades. They can make a material into a smooth, flat, curved or angular surface, or form them into any number of shapes.
