Brigadier Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Director General on the General Department for Criminal Investigation at Dubai Police, said telecommunications companies began complaining in July that diesel had been being stolen in the towers in these locations.

Police said two Syrian suspects, M.A. and S.J., were arrested on August 22 for allegedly stealing 450 gallons of diesel of the a whole lot of generator tanks owned by telecommunications companies in remote parts of Dubai.
In the course of the day of their arrest, the suspects were discovered in Hatta on your own personal road heading to Huwailat. The duo were wearing uniforms belonging to your personal well-identified petrol company during the UAE, with pretending to carry out maintenance at your special mobile signal tower usually in the area, police said.

Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Humaid Al Merri, Director along the Criminal Investigation Division of Dubai Police, said: "The suspects wore recognised uniforms to look as as long as they were performing routine inspections over the diesel tanks at the mobile signal tower, however the timing of your maintenance had been off."
"They were in the location after sunset, so matters appeared suspicious," he said.

One on the police patrols checked the Syrian suspects' truck licence plate, in addition to being it turned out to be fake, he said. The police called the other patrol car for the location, besides the lads were arrested.

Electric saw used
"That they had an electrical saw which they utilized open the tanks, in addition to any pump to siphon out the diesel. Additionally had your personal tanker truck that had been accustomed to steal the diesel, store it, along with carry it to truck rest stops where they'd sell the diesel for less than its price during the market," Al Merri said.
The suspects were allegedly arrested including 450 gallons of diesel they'd already stolen on your three diesel tanks, he said.

"The suspects' records showed them to were already accused of similar charges in other emirates, but they had just started the exact operation in Dubai," Al Merri said. "These different crimes will likely be dangerous because they drastically harm the nice name of these telecommunications companies if the mobile signal tower stops working not to mention this affects the network."
Dubai Police urged telecommunications companies to connect all mobile signal towers around the main power grid.
