Freedom From Chronic Pain - EFT Identifies and Dissolves the Root Causes
Chronic pain is that the body's way of informing us that it's not at peace; it's diseased. It's also a guaranteed manner of getting our attention. An enormously effective, safe and non-intrusive manner we tend to will respond to pain is by applying Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). Of course, one amongst the abundant-publicised benefits of EFT is pain relief.
As an EFT Practitioner, and Progressive Emotional Unleash (Pro-ER) Practitioner specialising in serious illness, I work with folks experiencing chronic physical, emotional, or mental pain on a daily basis. Indeed, in 2003 when wheelchair-sure and seriously sick with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), I struggled with chronic pain too.
Gary Craig, the founder of EFT claims: "The cause of all negative emotions could be a disruption in the body's energy system." That's, a concept or memory triggers a pause within the body's energy system and this is often experienced as psychological or physiological pain. Whereas experiencing or that specialize in a particular downside, and tapping on the meridians that carry the energy, disruptions are cleared and normal operate can resume. When EFT is applied appropriately, a cognitive shift takes place, that frees us from our negative emotions, thoughts and beliefs, restoring health and wellbeing.

Our unresolved negative emotions contribute significantly to most physical pains and diseases. Once we are unable (for no matter reason), to specific emotions like anger, resentment and grief, they're swallowed and repressed. They later show up within the body as pain and illness.
At the time I became sick, I didn't know a way to resolve the hurt and resentment I used to be experiencing, due to issues at work and in my relationship. And, I used to be handling the unexpected death of my aunt to whom I used to be particularly close. The subsequent symptoms of maximum fatigue, joint and muscle pain, brain fog, noise and lightweight sensitivities, and digestive disorders certainly attracted my attention - my body was shouting out to be heard.
Seven months later once I was introduced to EFT, my practitioner helped me unharness several stressful memories, which had led to the hurt and resentment I used to be holding on to. Terribly quickly, I was able to review previously bothersome recollections with neutrality and acceptance: I used to be still aware that they had happened; solely my perspective had changed. Simultaneously, I noticed that certain symptoms were easing or disappearing, specifically, my joint and muscle pain, and the problems with my digestion and food intolerances.
In contrast to many kinds of talk therapy, with EFT it's not necessary to dig deeply and relive unpleasant recollections in detail. Rather, what seems to occur is that once one or 2 unpleasant reminiscences are cleared, other connected recollections are collapsed while not needing to be worked on specifically.
Peeling away the intricate layers of chronic illness and pain will be complicated and delicate. There could be literally lots of "unpleasant memories" to work through that have resulted in repressed emotions and subsequent illness. Additionally, on a subconscious level, a chronic illness or pain will serve someone very well. Suddenly they need a purpose. When somebody is seriously ill or suffering chronic pain, there are fewer expectations put upon them, so they can feel safer: they no longer should prove themselves, be successful or "excellent".
After I begin to work with a shopper dealing with chronic pain I ask specific questions designed to get some insightful clues as to the root reason for the pain. One such question is:
"What is the upside of holding on to this pain/illness?"
Naturally, the first reaction is, "There's no upside, I want to be healthy!" but when the question is reframed to counsel, "What would be the draw back to recovering?" the consumer tunes in to how their life was prior to becoming ill.
After I asked a shopper suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia (intense facial pain causing spasm) this question recently in her first personal session, she answered, "If I recovered, I'd must be perfect once more and I would have to seem after and facilitate everyone." It transpired that joined of six youngsters she had been expected to appear when her siblings as a result of her mother was quite sick for a amount of time. She had felt resentment as a result. She had continued this role of wanting after everyone else when she married and had a family of her own, continually putting herself second. Currently, suffering from intense pain, she was finally during a position to be looked after and helped by others. She targeted on the resentment and the memory of her childhood, and we have a tendency to applied EFT until she not felt any emotional intensity or response to the experience. At the tip of the session, she told me the desperation she'd felt about her facial pain was "lighter" and "did not seem to matter as much currently". In fact, there was still additional work to be done addressing her inability to raise for what she needed (making her body ask for her) and in organizing her life and relationships therefore that she wasn't having to 'give' repeatedly, but may additionally 'receive'.
Another query which offers insight is:
"If there was an individual or event in your life which you'd simply as soon skip, who or what would it be?"
One consumer told me she would never have taken that vacation to Florida as a young woman, as a result of it had been the catalyst for her health issues. Not long once returning, she was diagnosed with CFS and later, multiple chemical sensitivities and ulcerative colitis. She had repressed emotions of anger and regret ever since. Forty years later, she was housebound and still seriously ill. We have a tendency to used EFT on the holiday memory. Not solely were we have a tendency to in a position to neutralise the negative beliefs she'd felt regarding herself as a result of the holiday, however she was in a position to see new possibilities for her future. Since then, we have a tendency to have worked together closely and currently she can tolerate a lot of varied foods, is able to depart the house frequently, exercises, and contains a half-time job writing.
Ultimately, if the correct queries are asked, we have a tendency to get to the foundation cause quicker and get the answers we tend to would like to heal the issue. Moreover, if we tend to will be able to resolve the emotional reasons for physical illness and chronic pain, surgery may not be necessary.
