As sorority groups become more popular, they feel the need to set themselves unique from among the rest of the other sororities and their sorority clothing. This holds especially true during the time when they have their community services like outreach programs in which they are seen by the public.
To help people identify them and thus know which to give credit to, members of the sorority groups have made it a policy to wear special gear. There is a lot of merchandise that they can take advantage of.

Of course, popularity is relative. It depends on the fame of the group and how you manage on your own as an individual. The sorority gear and merchandise are all imprinted or embroidered with the initials of the sorority. Sometimes, the slogan of the group is also imprinted below or above the sorority initials. This is one way of promoting their advocacy and gaining recognition from the community, which they vow to serve.
Of all the clothes and apparel available in Greek clothing stores, three of the most popular are the shirts, sweatshirts and jackets. Shirts can be worn almost every day. Shirts can be paired with jeans or slacks while a baby tee can be paired with skirts and leggings.
In areas where cold temperatures are constant, the sorority sweatshirt offers warmth to the person wearing it. It can also blend with other clothing such as pants, jeans, slacks, and skirts. Sweatshirts are not worn solo. They are usually worn after an inner wear such as t-shirts or blouses or polo.
Sorority jackets can also be worn everyday especially if the weather is cool. For many members, the jackets complete the attire.
Other sorority accessories are also gaining popularity, such as backpacks, pens and pencils, pencil case, notebooks or writing pads. There are also key chains, mugs and glassware, and even stickers.
Sorority clothing is also known by other terms such as Greek clothing as everything about the apparel and merchandise can be traced to Greece as the cradle of sorority and fraternity. Today, they are among the popular items for shopping.
