Headaches - Chronic Pain in the Workplace

Do you pay long periods of time sitting? Perhaps sitting at a desk? Perhaps sitting at a desk operating on a pc? If thus, you most likely suffer from recurring head and neck pain. The rationale is simple. Your body is rebelling against the day-to-day strains of sitting for long periods of time motionless, then again 10 fingers clicking away at keyboards. It perpetually amazes me to know that sitting motionless can be far worse for a body than the foremost strenuous activity.
The reason?
Our bodies were made for motion. Knees bend, backs flex, arms reach and heads turn. But after you sit immobile for hours at a time, maybe together with your head craned slightly forward and your shoulders clenched toward your ears, the strain creates muscle knots in your neck and tiny spasms in the encircling muscles.
However that is not all. Overtime, those knots might make you clench to 1 facet to relieve the strain, which jams one vertebra into another. And a chain reaction ensues. The knots, the strain and jammed vertebrae twist, stretch and irritate the protecting sheath (known as the dura mater) that surrounds the spinal chord and brain stem. This dura mater, which is made up of robust, protective fibers and hundreds of nerve endings, sends out pain signals to warn you that whatever you're doing is not smart for your all-important spine and brain stem. What YOU feel is intense, ongoing PAIN in your neck and head.

If you're full of this type of pain, you most likely already recognize what your regular doctor can prescribe--muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatories, pain killers and rest. You furthermore mght recognize that these fixes don't last.
However do you recognize why?
The rationale is that the doctor is treating the symptoms however not the supply of the pain. The muscle relaxers will stop your neck muscles from spasming and therefore the anti-inflammatory will cut back the swelling that cramps those nerve endings and causes the extraordinary throbbing in your head. The pain killers can dull the pain in your muscles, and therefore on. However the awkward bend of your neck and the clenched shoulders will still be there. And so will the knots and jammed vertebrae.
How do you treat the source of the matter?
Obtaining to the source of your pain is the one among the goals of Structural Integration. Throughout sessions, I will slowly, methodically unwrap the layers that are causing the pain. Employing a ten-session approach, I will work to alleviate the immediate pain, then will move deeper into the layers of muscle and fascia (the network of soft tissue that connects AND protects muscles, tendons and ligaments and binds them to bone) and at last to the dura mater where we tend to can re-change the neck itself and to require pressure off compressed vertebrae. Finally, I can move down the body to assist the WHOLE body readjust to the new, natural position of head and neck. The work will be complete when you're pain free, and you and your body are totally aligned-head to toe.
