Time to Reconnect With Family and Friends
Several from my generation, the pre-boomers who are now called New Seniors, were the first in to venture far from home in our early adult lives. We were born within the Great Depression or throughout WWII, so starting life throughout this extended amount of uncertainty might have influenced us to look outside our communities as we began our careers. Those that did, like me, might notice themselves making an attempt to reconnect with family and friends in order to shut some doors and open others as we move to a higher section of the good continuum of life.
A basic human want to reconnect may have been what prompted my decision to go to the east coast to visit with recent friends and some family members, many of whom had not been seen in years - 15, thirty and additional, as a matter of fact. The result was personally gratifying, I think, for everyone involved. Seeing how people evolved, handled the ups and downs of life, being able to laugh and cry concerning the past while sharing our hopes and dreams for the longer term caused me to marvel why it took so long to get back together.
Perhaps we have a tendency to were never really separated except by geography; as a result of upon arrival, we tend to were in a position to jump right into what appeared like the continuation of a conversation that had been on pause for an undetermined period of time. And, I quickly realized that had we tend to continued to miss opportunities to get together, we tend to would miss the enjoyment of the history we tend to shared - one where all smart things seemed even better. A brand new honesty and exciting freshness develops when individuals target the lives of others, which once years apart takes on a different kind of importance, and permits us to return to the pleasantness of the past without dwelling there.

However all vacations must come back to and end. When the visits were over, we all promised to stay in touch within the months and years ahead. I hope we tend to do, because the great times and the nice feeling are too vital to let slip away and become hazy memories. Of course, the thrill of reconnecting have prompted me to achieve out to others, who I've got additionally neglected to seek out, and call them. The physical act of calling or emailing them has had a positive effect on me.
As a results of these efforts, I've received one phone decision back and email from another. Thus the renewed communications is already producing results. I conjointly mentioned the trip and my reconnection efforts to many close friends and family members. They thought it had been a smart idea and plan to do the same. Wouldn't it be nice if every people just connected with one person from the past each week and opened the lines of communications once more.
