Should you give up coffee because it is bad for your health? Of course, almost anything done in excess can be hazardous, also coffee. Coffee is not all bad. Research has shown that there are some great benefits to coffee. Certain tests show that students drinking coffee in moderation has scored better in exams. This is excellent news for students. Short term memory can be boosted when drinking coffee.
Persons older than eighty years also showed improvement in their cognitive functions after drinking coffee. Coffee is not just helping students. It is claimed that a moderate usage of coffee can decrease the risks of acquiring dementia and Alzheimer’s.

And that is not the end of the possible good news: coffee can even reduce the possibility of gout in men. Gout causes extremely painful inflammation of the joints of the body. Redness and swelling are usually the symptoms of gout. Gout is believed to be caused by too high levels of Uric Acid in the bloodstream. Coffee is thought to reduce the levels of Uric Acid in the body.
Drinking coffee does have some negatives. The forming of wrinkles can be hastened by coffee consumption. Coffee dehydrates the body, and dry skin tends to wrinkle faster.
Even thought there is some disadvantages, research did show that moderate coffee consumption do offer some great advantages. Coffee in limited quantities is vital and can offer great health benefits.
Living without that cup of cofee in the morning can be unthinkable for the most of us. Luckily, research has shown that it it not necessary. So you can take your cup of coffee with a clear conscience. The rule is not to take more thank 2-3 cups of coffee per day.
