Acupuncture Used In Heel Pain Relief

Heel pin relief by acupuncture is commonly used technique. It involves inserting thin needles into locations of the body which are in pain or interconnected to the pain area. This is ancient technique developed in China some 5000 years ago. It is currently more recognized in the Western society. This method is widely used in Asia as healing and pain relief technique.

Meridians
Base of the philosophy is that energy flows through meridians hence meaning that heel pain relief can be accomplished by inserting needles anywhere along the meridian which is linked to the heel. The assumption is there is a blockage (frequently at the source of pain area) and removing the blockage will permit free energy flow which is our ordinary state.

Chi
Chi is the name for energy which flows through the body. Acupuncture attempts to correct the flow of energy, not to make or obliterate it, in this way the cure is working with the body rather than in opposition to it. Chi has two sides to it. Occasionally called positive and negative energy, or more commonly known as Ying and Yang. Ying and Yang are meant to represent male and female energies. People have both types of chi flowing through them.

By allowing balance in Chi the body permits the blood to flow without restraint and take with it more oxygen to the affected areas. This is really the physical proof the acupuncture has worked. In the case of heel pain relief the heel is visibly redder at the conclusion of the treatment. This is a indication of improved blood flow to the heel. Very frequently immediate pain relief is also observed and in some cases the soreness is removed completely.

Needles
Fine needles are usedwhich do not induce bleeding when inserted unlike ordinary type injections which doctors would make. The needles are located in specific spots called acupuncture points. These acupuncture points are points of energy and also pain points. Acupuncture points tend to collect pain and are not often recognized by the person until pressure is applied to that specific point. To aid in the heeling procedure the needles will be twisted by the doctor applying them or they will contain slight current applied through the needles into the body. Clamps are attached to the needles with wiring extending to a current regulator.
