A lot of changes are happening in your organization. Turnover is high, productivity is low, and morale is mediocre. But management contains a new angle, changes are occurring, and things are obtaining better. But, your organization's success depends on employees being loyal, dedicated, and devoted. In other words, everybody has to be "committed" to doing a nice job. Your task is to inform your staff what it suggests that to be committed.
If this scenario is familiar, you want to offer staff specific examples of behaviors that represent commitment. The subsequent eight behaviors will help you are doing that. If this is not your state of affairs, contemplate incorporating these eight behaviors throughout discussions about overcoming obstacles, achieving results, and pursuing goals. Committed workers, who demonstrate the "right" quite behaviors, will facilitate your throughout good times and bad.

2. Makes adjustments in work hours in order to successfully complete assignments.
3. Persists in finishing assignments; even when difficulties arise.
4. Finds alternative ways in which to urge things done; especially when encountering obstacles to successful performance.
5. Stays focused on tasks; not letting workplace distractions impact successful performance.
6. Perseveres in finding solutions to problems; even when setbacks occur.
7. Supports workplace changes; even when changes are unpopular or unanticipated.
8. Supports team, workplace, or organizational selections; whether or not "personal recommendations" weren't half of the final decisions.
Create Your Own "Commitment" Behaviors
If the commitment behaviors you need workers to exhibit don't seem to be on this list, create your own. How? First, think about what "commitment" means that to you. If the situation in the opening paragraph does not match your current experiences, write your own scenario. Second, establish WHY you want staff to be committed. Can their behaviors facilitate your increase sales, cut back errors, or eliminate backlogs? Match the behaviors you would like staff to exhibit to the positive results you'd like to see. This permits you to spot vital behaviors and ensures that those behaviors will cause desired outcomes.
When You Describe Behaviors, You Scale back Misunderstandings
After you tell employees WHAT you wish them to try and do and WHY, you get higher results. This is often true whether you're talking concerning a trait like commitment or a skill like writing. So the following time you're trying to motivate your employees to be more loyal, dedicated, and devoted (i.e. committed), tell them exactly what "commitment" suggests that to you. Provide them some specific examples of commitment behaviors. And do not forget to inform them WHY those behaviors are important. The results you get may even "exceed" your performance expectations.
