This motor vehicle accident was caused by an 18 year-old driver who was driving while intoxicated. The car accident occurred on a Sunday morning at approximately 2:30. Most drunk driving accidents occur on weekend nights. The driver struck a male pedestrian, forty four years of age, who was crossing a road. As a result of the accident he sustained serious head injuries. The driver was arrested. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving under the influence.
According to this report the driver was an eighteen year old male. The motor vehicle accident took place in the morning hours on a Sunday. The accident happened in a residential area. The accident happened when the teenaged driver lost control of his vehicle. The car spun violently before it flipped over, hit the victim and slammed against a large tree in front of the house. The victim had just gotten out of his car to grab a pamphlet from the front yard on a home which had a For Sale sign when he was hit by an out of control car. The 67 year old man did not survive the accident.
This motor vehicle accident involved a 19 year-old female driver also driving in a residential neighborhood. She hit a woman who was in front of her home tending to her flower bed. The car hit her with such force that she was thrown nearly one hundred fifty feet into a truck parked in her driveway. The teenaged driver fled the scene of the accident. The driver was arrested nearby roughly 30 minutes later as she was reportedly returning to the scene to take responsibility for the accident.
Every time I read a report of a new motor vehicle accident accident involving a teen driver my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. Lives are ruined in them. Victims can die or suffer significant injuries. Some are left with life-long disabilities. The families of the victims also suffer a great loss. Even the teenage driver's life is altered forever. Sometimes they suffer the rest of their lives from the knowledge of what they did. Sometimes they lose their freedom. But, be it from speeding or from drunk driving these accidents continue to happen.
