Twitter en Espanol

Twitter has only been around since May of 2007 and is now practically considered a common household word. You would be hard pressed to come upon someone that didn’t know what Twitter is, but what you may not know about is that there is now ‘Twitter en español’. Since September of 2009, Spanish has become a fully supported language on Twitter. Spanish now joins the Japanese and English languages as the only three languages that Twitter currently supports. Twitter has recently announced that they are in the process of accommodating the “FIGS” languages one the site which are French, Italian, German and Spanish; one down and three to go.

Now many companies are taking advantage of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) with Twitter. Properly using the site will allow more links to content in search engine rankings of the major search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. Posting keyword rich content, including the right URLs and tags will help increase the natural traffic your site receives from Twitter.

Twitter en español is already quickly catching on. Many websites that are written only in Spanish now have the Twitter logo and link ‘to follow us on Twitter’, which is an amazing marketing tool for those looking to promote their business within the Spanish speaking community. Twitter in Spanish is much more than a social networking site. Spanish language students and students who are learning English as a second language can subscribe to a special service from Twitter that will help them learn and improve their Spanish communication skills via the micro-blogging platform.

There is much more to Twitter than seeing how many followers you have or filling in the 140 characters you are limited to when you are describing ‘what you are doing’. Twitter is rapidly becoming the default news site for breaking stories across the world. Just last year when Flight 1549 went down in the Hudson River in New York, one of the passengers was busy on Twitter documenting the experience before the news media had even broken the story. No matter where you are on the globe, if you have a Twitter account you are able to post links, photos, opinions and any news story or news item that you desire. And now with Twitter en español keeping others informed of news and events in the Spanish speaking world, there is now a fresh flow of information.

If you are thinking of creating a Spanish speaking Twitter account, the website is user-friendly and will walk the new user through the entire process. Spanish language Twitter is great for a number of reasons and one of them is the connectivity. If all your friends followed you on Spanish language Twitter you could send them an instant update which they can view quickly, at no cost, and directly from there mobile device. Searching on Twitter en español is fast and efficient; you are able to find the latest news under any category imaginable. Twitter en español is also a great marking tool for small business owners as they are now able to tweet, for example, the daily special, not only in English but in Spanish as well.
