The long debate is still at full flow and with the PC still way out in front, we look at the option of Mac realistically catching it up. Fristly let's have a look and the positives and negaytives of both systems.

MAC
Basically the Mac is totally differet from a PC, if you have been using a PC for most of your life, then you may have a bit of trouble getting used to how a Mac operates. But once you have got used to it, the sytsem does turn out to be very user friendly, another major advantage of Mac is that all of its software and hardware is developed in houase, therefore it is not a third party creating different prts of the systems so it can be a lot more erliable.
But unfortunately a distinct disaddvantage to the Mac is that it is very pricey, with the amount that you are paying for a Mac you coyuld obtain yourself a very decet PC that does the job.
PC
As you know the traditional PCs and laptops are very popular, they already occpuy arouind 90% of the home users markket, the major benefits of a PC are that you have the ability to customise it anyawy you like. For example you can add RAM to make it run faster; put in a bigger hard drive to store more information or upgrade your graphics card to play awesome games.
The only disadvantages that I can see from owning a PC is in the buidl, by adding so many different manufactyurers' items, you nver know what is compatible and what will or will not go wrong.
Conclusion
Well to be honest and on my personal opinion I would much rather own a PC rather than a Mac, the rason beng because it coss me less and I feel that I can get many more benefits than I can with a Mac. Three are so many programs that are compatible with a PC that I can almost do anything I wish.
With a Mac comes professionalism and there are some great tools if you are a designer or coder such as copdex, but these are only minor aspectts and I can get myself very similar pieces of softwre on the PC for a fraction of the cost.
I do not feel that the Mac will catch up to the PC any time soon, uless of course they have a lot more thid party software compatibility and a lwer prie ranbge.
