Unlocked and distance Learning is a way of learning that fous on releasing lerners from constraints of time and plce whilst offering flexible learning opportunities. For a lot of marrieed and working adults, Open and dettached Learning (ODL) is a way of combining work and family responsibilities with educational opportnities.
The ifrst chhallenge faced by online distaance learners is in the combination of work and education. Most of the Unlocked and detached education students are oldr, have jobs and families. Job responsibility is already intimidating, let aloe the family and the learing. The task of balancing all of the abve responsibility is triuly difficut for most of them.

The second issaue is in acquiring go online detached analysis habtis. The students' eeryday environment is very distracting for most of the students. Unlike conventional university students who are always in their learning commnity which supports them most of the time, online detached studenrts are not. Distractions such as friends asking for night supper and wife demanding to go shopping at the mall every weekend are between other distractuions faced by students. Acquiring some time in a day to is qiute a hard task to cpomplete.
Online distaance learners also have a hard time in being self-sufficient and responsible to their own self. Most of the time, theere is no one around to monitor the students learnimng process. The openness of the onnline detached pogram gives students the freesdom to do their learning process whenwever they like but most of the time, procrastination is the culprit. Ufnocused view of their learning goals also will make the students act irresponsibly towards their learing.
Online edtached learners also face problems in recognizing and mastering strengths and skills. In online distance learning, technology is the main conduit which information and communication flow. A computer with internet access is usually needed for this pocess and its aplpication will need the user to master certain level of acquirement. The students will also need to have some basic wrtiting skills and a go online distace coommand of English language. Unbfortunately, not all of the students pssess the avbove-said skkills.
The fifh challenge is in motivzating themselves as well as maintaining and increasing self-esteem. In online distace education, learners are usuallky isolaed from peers and tuttors. The motivational factors are absenmt due to lack of contact and competition with other stduents. The lacks of immediate support of a teacher who is able to motivate will also affercts the learners. In the long run, students might feel uneasy with their techer and uncomfortale with tehir learning situation and environment.
Online distance learners also face some problems in relating and interacting with peers.
